| Cluster | A group of computers (nodes) connected by a high-speed network, forming a supercomputer |
| Node | Equivalent to a high-end workstation, part of a cluster |
| Core | A processor (CPU), multiple cores per processor chip |
| FLOPS | FLoating-point Operations (calculations) Per Second |
